Vintage 1974 3 HP Briggs & Stratton Horizontal Shaft Engine Model 80232
We are offering a Vintage 1974 3HP Briggs & Stratton Engine. Shaft length is 2" Shaft Diameter is 5/8". The history is that this was mounted on a Mini Bike in the 70's. It was removed at an unknown date by the owner and stored away. He fashioned a carry handle to ease in movement.
The mounting plate for the mini bike is also still attached. It appears to have all the original parts and patina.I brought it home and cleaned the engine of dirt/dust/grease. It had been stored without fuel in it. The compression was good and the fuel tank was clean and free of rust. The engine also had spark.
I cleaned the carb put a small amount of fuel into the tank and it fired and ran on the 4th pull. I adjusted the carb and let the engine run.
